The village of Tamarasheni is one of the examples of ethnic cleansing and mass persecution of Georgians and of total destruction of their damaged houses.

The village, which is located three kilometers from Tskhinvali, belonged to the Kurta community. The residents recall that the shooting began in the village from August 6, 2008.
